‘Embodying Long Covid – The Discursive Construction of a Health Movement’
The focus of Carina Hilmar‘s PhD project are the Long Covid patient communities and the surrounding patient activism. She analyses the discursive construction of what has been called a movement to answer her central research questions pertaining to the types of discourses that have shaped the movement, their effects and how they relate to power. She aims to outline the emergence of the movement that can be understood as a social and cultural phenomenon and to place it within the larger context of health activism.
